LETTER OF PROTEST AND REQUEST TO U.S . AND SOUTH KOREA GOVERNMENT
We have received information that South Korean government is going to implement the forcible eviction of residence in the villages of Daechuri, and Doduri, Pyeongtaek City, South Korea, by the end of this August. We are filled with indignation against the government¡¯s inhumane attack on the residents, and vehemently demand to stop the arrangement. Innumerable concerned people in international community including Japan keep watch on what the government is doing to farmers in Pyeongtaek. We all remember the barbarous state violence against people¡¯s resistance that oppose the expansion of US military base. Next violent, bloody eviction by Korean military and riot police will irreparably expose the anti-people violence and savagery of Korean government, which will be surely showered by ever-biggest international impeachment.
We basically hold that the ongoing US military¡¯s transformation plan, including relocation in South Korea and re-alignment throughout Okinawa and mainland Japan, definitely increase military tension in Korean peninsula and the whole Asia. The plan also makes grave annoyance to residents in Korea, Okinawa, Japan, etc., and leads to destruction of their livings. We condemn the impending atrocities caused by state violence by Korean government in Pyoengtaek, and resolutely launch campaign against expansion of US military bases in Pyoentaek, consolidation of Okinawa, Iwakuni, and other US bases in Japan, in solidarity with Asian people.
We strongly express our protest to the imminent eviction by force .and demand the South Korean government to stop the plan of bloody appropriation of land and houses. We also demand the both governments to withdraw the ongoing plan of US base expansion in Pyoengtaek, to examine and to negotiate it again immediately.
